Having a basic understanding of how a refrigeration system works is important information to have when making your purchase. Refrigeration systems have many different designs, but they all follow a basic structure.
A compressor drives the system. It begins by pressurizing Freon gas, which is then sent to a condenser.
Choose between top or bottom-mounted compressors. Click here to read more about compressor options.
This is where heat is removed from the gas, which now is a high pressure liquid.
This liquid passes through an expansion device that meters when it is time to cool the unit.
The liquid enters an evaporator which is where the warmer air inside the cabinet is directed. The liquid absorbs this heat, and the liquid evaporates back to a gas. This gas is then drawn back into the compressor and the cycle is repeated.
Ambient temperature effects your equipment performance. Proper ventilation, air circulation, and air conditioning can help reduce ambient temperature.
Beverage Air® units are certified and tested to operate in kitchens up to 100° ambient temperature.
