Stay organized with wire shelving
Shopping for shelving can be confusing. Restaurant shelving comes in nearly any size you can imagine to fit in weirdly configured spaces, but how do you know what material the shelf should be made of? Where your shelves will be and what they’ll be used for are the biggest factors in determining what shelves you buy for your restaurant, bakery, bar, coffee shop, or pizzeria. Metal wire shelving is popular for its durability, air circulation, and open design. Metal wire shelves are available with multiple finishes. Chrome-plated is the most affordable. While rust-resistant, it isn’t rust-proof and shouldn’t be used in walk-in refrigerators or freezers. Chrome-plated wire shelves are great for dry storage or heated environments. Epoxy-coated shelves are rust-resistant and perfect for walk-in coolers or other humid areas. Many of our epoxy-coated shelves have an anti-microbial to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold. Our polymer shelves don’t corrode and are made of heavy-duty plastic that can hold hundreds of pounds. They make great options anywhere in your business. Metro’s Super Erecta Pro epoxy shelves with polymer mats bridge both types of shelves with an epoxy-coated wire shelf and legs and a vented plastic mat cover connected to the top of the shelf. If you have heavy items, like bulk bags of flour, rice, or sugar, a dunnage rack is a great option to keep them off the floor and avoid overloading your new shelves. We also carry replacement parts if the shelf becomes damaged and dividers, label holders, and casters.
